Looking for houses to rent in real life can be quite stressful; but hunting for lodging on Second Life is exciting and fun! BDVR Dream World; also known as Blue diamond virtual Reit provides sky boxes for rent that are, well, out of this world!
Second lifers looking for a bargain, won’t be disappointed with the “Eco” skyboxes that are 50 lindens a week and 15 prims. Then there are several other unfurnished skyboxes which consist of 1 room with no frills; wood floors; clear windows all around; but private; and all are just a little different,. I could see the moon and stars outside the windows at the one I visited; very enchanting. They are obviously very popular as they are all rented out at present!
There are several unfurnished “librarians retreat” skyboxes for 99lindens a week and 30 prims or 10% discount for 4 weeks; they are probably my least favorite as the walls and floors are all gray, but it does have a book shelf and the price is right!
For those who want something more notable or refined, BDVR is the place to look! Let me tell you a little about those choices:
There are 2 “One room” skyboxes for 299 lindens a week and 25 prims. They are out fitted with a kitchen and seating area; a bedroom with an animated bed, including a control to mess up the bed sheets. It kind of reminded me of a great man cave and was quite distinctive.
Two “New York” skyboxes for 299 lindens a week and 25 prims can also be rented. The beautiful wood flooring and walls can change colors as your whim changes. There is an exquisite wood and black spiral staircase leading to the second floor loft bedroom and that’s not all! Another staircase leads to the third floor! I loved the view of the stars when I turned the walls to the clear color; very pretty! The New Yorkers are not furnished.
The two “Blue Escapes” for 299 lindens a week and 60 prims or 999 lindens for 4 wks, are surrounded by gorgeous landscapes that you control! Whether you want to feel like you‘re in the deserts of Arizona or be surrounded by heather in Scotland, there are numerous landscapes to choose from. A stunning glass and steel front door greets your arrival; inside there are gorgeous wood floors, and glass walls. Impressive modern steel stairs take you to second floor where you can take in the spectacular view everywhere you look and the loft bedroom has a walk out patio. Blue Escape is not furnished, but it will be enjoyable to change your view at a whim.
The Serenity: Here the owner can have a little fun and add variety by changing the pattern and color of the rugs or the nature viewer. There are 2 floors with a living area and fireplace and upstairs is the bedroom with an animated bed for those romantic evenings. Outside you will find a decent size fenced in yard. All of this for 399 lindens a week and 40 prims.
The Dream: There are several seating areas; a lovely fireplace and a kitchen for entertaining guests. The windows are equipped with blinds that open and shut. A modern winding staircase leads to the second floor loft bedroom and another seating area. Again, this dreamy skybox goes for 399 lindens a week and 40 prims.
Charmed: You will be charmed when you see this lovely niche! At 399 lindens a week and 40 prims, you have your own TV with several channels to view; a living room with a handsome fireplace; an area to sit at the table and take in the view; and rugs and pictures that change color. The second floor bedroom is lined with windows all along one wall that looks out on your very own fenced in yard. And if that doesn’t impress you, maybe being able to sit out on the deck that leads off the bedroom to sun yourself or gaze at the stars will. Sounds like a home away from home.
The Canberra is warm, inviting and very cozy and romantic. The first thing you will notice upon entering is a huge sectional sofa with a fireplace in the middle of it all! There is a bar for entertaining and behind a wall of full length blinds that provide complete privacy is an amorous bedroom. The sky box comes furnished and has a fenced yard complete with stars at night! Enjoy all of this for only 599 lindens a week and 40 prims.
If you need a break from touring homes, there are games to be played; fishing to be done, or you can just wander the beautiful property. Plus there is an Earn2Life ATM machine to get your hard earned lindens to head up to the second floor for some clothes shopping!
