I am absolutely in love ...

by Lillianna Lionheart

I am absolutely in love with Flutterby Gallery and Studio! My senses were all a tingle from the minute I arrived, with the warm sand under my feet and the sound of the waves behind me. I turned around and to my pleasure, I beheld a beautiful beach and little wooded lagoon that I knew I would have to investigate after my visit to the gallery. The birds were singing away and I couldn’t help but close my eyes and take in a deep breath of the ocean air. Glorious!

The gallery is just as spectacular as the landscape around it. It is a handsome design of brick and glass with graceful butterflies in stained glass throughout. There’s a huge rock fountain in the middle of the gallery which I enjoyed, as I love the sound of running water and I felt more relaxed and less and less stressed as I wandered through the gallery. My favorite pictures and scenes are of landscapes and the outdoors and I was not disappointed here. Plus, all the pictures are framed and are only 250 lindens!

Gallery Owner, Photographer and Tattoo Designer, Gala Caproni, has had her gallery for about 2 years now. “Prior to that, she said, “I was showing my works in other’s galleries”. I asked her about her gallery and her pictures and where she gets her inspiration for them. “I love to explore and when I find somewhere interesting, I like to take my time and view it in many different windlight settings to get the best shots I can”. Gala does not alter her Second Life landscape shots in photoshop or any other program, other than she frames them or possibly puts a canvas texture on it. Gala informed me, “The locations for my shoots can be anywhere in second life that I just happen upon or somewhere a friend recommends”.

I love how Gala Caproni plays with light. I’m not that educated about art or photography and other such media, but I do know what I like. One of my favorites was called “Of Sun and Shadows-Garden of Dreams“. I felt like I was in the middle of the woods, walking along a path surrounded by flowers, when all of a sudden the sun beams through the trees and illuminates everything in it’s wake making the flowers appear more glorious than ever. I just want to walk right into the picture and into the light.

Another favorite is called, “Lighting the Night-Garden of Dreams“. I want to be able to walk into my backyard and be welcomed by round warm lights hanging from the trees; a comfy swing for two to relax in and listen to the birds start to settle down for the night while the last light of the day filters through the trees making everything feel calm and dreamy.

Gala also specializes in tattoos and does custom work with her clients. Most of the tattoos are things she loves to wear. Gala says of herself, “I’m a butterfly fanatic as I’m sure you can tell! ” “I just love for people to come and enjoy the world of Second Life and see how beautiful it can be; see the places that others have built for us to enjoy. And I’m happy I can preserve those moments for others to keep”. All I can say is that Gala Caproni has done just that. She has created a beautiful place for others to enjoy and I was captivated by the whole experience.

Flutterby Gallery and Studio and ...

by DaniBaxterr Resident

Flutterby Gallery and Studio and an art gallery and "is a window into a person's personal perception of the world". If that's so, Gala Caproni's "Flutterby Gallery and Studio" proves her that her perception is exquisite. Outside of the "normal" and often boringly minimalistic stereotype for an art gallery; Flutterby is ...

Inside a classy open building ...

Inside a classy open building , in warm colors and a lovely floor, there is this beautiful gallery, with an amazing fountain at the center, giving to it that touch of Zen and feng-shui that's needed. At first, going inside I noticed the great photos on walls and wondered to myself ...
