I felt my body start to relax the minute I teleported to the Sri Ganesha Hindu Temple grounds and found myself standing in the middle of a magnificent white marble pavilion. I know not everyone likes Second Life because it allows them to get away from the cares, worries and responsibilities of real life, but that is definitely a plus for me. I just know that when things get really hectic in my real life, I tend to look for places in Second Life that are relaxing, beautiful and serene. I was definitely not disappointed at the Sri Ganesha Hindu Temple grounds! Make sure you have your volume up when you visit, because you don’t want to miss the sound of the waves; or the peaceful notes of the wind chime.
I didn’t know which way to turn first, so I went right. The trees were absolutely magnificent! There were huge pink flowering trees with thick gnarled trunks and willows that provided shade and tranquility. The first thing I did was walk to the pier and meditated on the plush cushions provided for visitors. As I continued toward the building to my right, I spied a picnic basket and blanket laid out on the grass on the edge of the water. It’s the perfect place for a romantic rendezvous or friends to share some wine and fruit and contemplate life. I finally made it to the dwelling behind me. The stairs led me to a patio with doors on either side and I found that they were large rooms artistically decorated, each with a different theme and color scheme; some with meditation cushions, and all with the accoutrements needed for a Hindu ceremony. There are four rooms, and they can be rented out for classes, meetings, reunions or whatever the need may be for only 250 lindens a week and 25 prims. It’s the perfect place for a retreat!
As I made my way back to the other side of the grounds I came upon some yoga mats and tried my hand, or I should say my body at that. There were a variety of poses to do and after a few, I felt ready to keep exploring. In front of me was a gorgeous fountain; made only more so with the flowers surrounding it and another glorious pink tree just to it’s left. To my delight, I found that part of the grounds to the left of the entrance is the home to many adorable little rabbits. I wasn’t expecting that! More alluring gardens with a rose arbor are to be found, with benches to sit and relax. I could spend hours here and I thought to myself, the aroma on these grounds would be breathtaking; no pun intended! Two more rooms are to be found on this side also for rent.
I finally went back to the middle to see what else there is to do here and just for those of us who consider shopping relaxing, there is a teleport to the store which I made sure I checked out. There were shoes, dresses and a few ball-gowns, plus clothing for role playing. All are from A&J Creation and Franchise and gentlemen I do believe if you go there to find a gift for your lady, there‘s no way you‘re going to leave without finding something! Other things that can be purchased while visiting the grounds are meditation benches and cushions, and the more practical office chair.
I enjoyed my visit to Sri Ganesha Hindu Temple grounds very much and plan to visit again; if not to meditate, then to do some yoga or to stop and smell the roses.
